Today I transitioned the NICER Noticeboard from a frontend-only prototype into a structured backend-oriented system design by extracting core platform architecture directly from the existing HTML and JavaScript implementation. I defined the initial ERD and backend domain structure around opportunities, applications, opportunity submissions, organisations, categories, stakeholders and ecosystem alignment metadata, while also mapping relationships and future scalability considerations for Spring Boot integration. In parallel, I translated the prototype’s modal flows, filtering logic, application workflows, submission processes and analytics interactions into formal backend functional requirements and API-oriented behaviors, establishing a clear foundation for future authentication, moderation, persistence, analytics and ecosystem management services....

Today I went to office and experimented with a bluish glassmorphism system for NICER's main website to preserve the existing visual identity and structural consistency while improving clarity and readability of white text on lighter backgrounds. The work focused specifically on adapting frosted-glass cards, chevrons, metrics, forms, and other glassmorphic components to have a bluish background blur without altering the broader design system or hero structure. Adjustments were made to strengthen the correspondence between the updated NICER logo and the website’s visual language, aligning the ecosystem aesthetic with the lighter interface direction as suggested by the CEO....

Today I finalised NICER’s analytics and micro A/B testing layer for the main website's v9 prototype. The system now fully supports persistent experiment assignment, GA4 tracking, experiment impressions, CTA and scroll tracking, form funnel analytics, and complete implementation of Experiment 4 across Academy, Noticeboard, and Shop. I also improved the architecture by separating experiment logic from UI code and standardising event tracking for better scalability and reporting accuracy. Remaining work is minor and focused on enhancements like deeper attribution, time-on-page metrics, and more detailed ecosystem navigation tracking.

Furthermore, I worked on defining the NICER ecosystem admin dashboard as a unified control layer for the Noticeboard rather than a standalone system, clarifying that it should scale across the broader ecosystem while initially focusing on Noticeboard operations. Refined the architecture to include opportunity lifecycle management, shared database structure, role-based access, analytics, A/B testing, and featured content control, all synced between the Noticeboard and admin dashboard. Also outlined how opportunity submissions flow through moderation to publication, and how shared data tables (opportunities, applications, stakeholders, analytics) support real-time ecosystem intelligence and future scalability as a powerpoint presentation slide for review by my mentor....

Today I worked on reorganising and refining a large-scale CSS and frontend JavaScript architecture for the design system, shifting the A/B testing approach from a macro-level setup to a more granular micro A/B testing framework. The work involved structurally cleaning and segmenting the existing CSS into clearly defined sections such as global design tokens, base layout, typography, header/navigation, hero system, component libraries (buttons, cards, metrics, forms), the ICE chevron flow, and footer, with a strong emphasis on readability, scalability, and maintainability.

On the JavaScript side, I implemented and refined a context-aware engagement system that dynamically adapts form fields based on user-selected stakeholder paths, supported by a dataset-driven routing mechanism across the platform. In addition, I integrated granular analytics tracking using Google Analytics for events such as CTA interactions, scroll depth, navigation usage, form submissions, hero visibility (via IntersectionObserver), and experiment interactions aligned to the micro A/B testing approach.

Finally, I addressed key architectural and runtime issues, including variable scope mismatches, incorrect script execution order, and misplaced analytics calls, improving overall code stability, maintainability, and scalability while preserving the existing design system and user experience....

The work also involved refining the navigation flow within the Noticeboard so that users can seamlessly move between opportunity discovery, quick filtering, and contextual exploration without breaking engagement flow, while preparing the system for future features such as submission flows, empty states, and content lifecycle management....

I refined the UI systems for the NICER Courses, NICER Noticeboard, NICER Opportunities, and NICER Shop by improving spacing, layout consistency, and cross-platform design alignment across all cards and sections. I adjusted the positioning of the “featured” badge to prevent it from overlapping with variable-length titles and standardized the header spacing for a cleaner and more predictable text flow. 

I unified the card structure using consistent flex-based layouts, ensuring that action rows remain anchored at the bottom for stable button alignment, regardless of content length. Additionally, I refined the filter and action button systems on the Noticeboard, Courses, and Shop platforms into a cohesive interaction pattern. This included introducing a glassmorphic UI layer with rich navy active states, subtle cyan glow accents, and consistent hover/active feedback to enhance visual hierarchy and usability. 

I specifically re-themed the Shop filter buttons to align with the broader NICER design language, combining translucent glass styling with a deep navy active gradient and soft glow effects. This adjustment aimed to create uniform interaction behavior across all platforms, resulting in a unified ecosystem experience. 

Finally, I submitted all these changes as version 2 prototypes to my mentor for feedback and began researching the technology stack for the Noticeboard's backend development....

Additionally, I focused on implementing and refining interaction tracking using Google Analytics event logic for tracking CTA clicks, navigation interactions, form submissions, menu interactions, and scroll depth behavior. 

I also analyzed and revised the project’s A/B testing strategy by transitioning from macro-testing to a micro A/B testing approach. This new approach emphasizes UI and UX optimization through controlled variations, including hero messaging, CTA wording, visual emphasis, and engagement behavior across the ecosystem platforms.

Furthermore, I documented the rationale for the proposed micro A/B testing, including hypotheses, metrics, testing context, and experimental structure, in a format ready for presentation to my mentor for review and approval....

Key challenges including software pack identification, UART and GPIO misconfiguration, and PuTTY communication settings were resolved. The correct firmware was flashed successfully and the S2-LP SigFox DK GUI was used to initiate board registration, with the activation string from ST still awaited to complete the process and A professional write-up documenting contributions to the GNSS Meteorology system covering cloud data management, storage optimisation, and AWS security was also completed....

I also enhanced the impact orientation metrics section by improving the visibility of silver-toned text for better contrast across light and dark contexts, while preserving the overall subtle glow aesthetic.

Additionally, I unified card interactions so that all cards now share consistent hover behaviour with a slight elevation effect for a more cohesive user experience. I removed the green accent styling from the collaboration path section to better align with the overall visual language and reduce unnecessary visual emphasis. I also reduced inconsistent glass overlays in certain sections to improve background visibility and spatial depth. Overall, I refined spacing, typography, and visual hierarchy to strengthen consistency and achieve a cleaner, more professional SaaS-style interface....

Today I worked on getting the Sigfox network up and running, focusing on device configuration and verifying connectivity. I am currently waiting for feedback from the network providers to confirm the device ID. Once confirmed, I will proceed with configuring the network and further testing....

Today I was working on incorporating and experimenting with certain UI design patterns into the NICER website to make it visually appealing as the manager suggested, these included experimenting with glassmorphism, gradient backgrounds, making the website sections to be more breathable instead of being closely stacked. I started applying  different combinations of these into different prototypes for submission to my mentor on order to gather feedback on which combination to stick to....
